We are all addicts

We are all addicts; how can we not be? Our daily routine is filled with a constant overload of stress, hurry, worry and lack. Each person has their own personal vice. You might be one of those people who believe that they are not an addict (Such as the "K's Choice Song" that refers to this), but I am here to tell that there is a 99.9% chance that you do have some sort of addictive behavior. Whether it is food, drug, activity, etc… Figure out your addiction, recognize it and always work on improving yourself and helping others without force. For example, if you see someone who is addicted to high fat toxic food, bring them one of your best smoothies! They will probably feel better after drinking it, love the sweet taste, and want to drink more smoothies in the future! We can change the world one smoothie at a time!

Magical Days,
Sarah

What a mess you are…

Sometimes I think to myself, “What a mess you are.” My mind says these words without any reasoning behind the statement. I don’t know how long this has been happening unconsciously in my mind, maybe many years. However, I am currently conscious of this behavior and have stopped to ask myself why it happens.

Today I stated the phrase above to myself, and looked up to see a dingy middle aged man. He sat in a coffee shop alone. Based on his appearance, complete with a plastic bag filled with a dirty white blanket, I would say he might be homeless. This man sat by the door which was used for an entrance as well as an exit. As people passed by him, he would chuckle to himself. When there was no traffic passing this man, he murmured to himself, making hand gestures as if he was having the most fabulous conversation ever!

When I caught myself stating, “What a mess you are,” I saw the dingy middle aged man and restated my thought to, “What a mess we all are.” The human race is such an odd group of creatures. Our species all have the same exact needs, yet we separate ourselves with a belief that we are all different - as if each person is a completely different species.

I always enjoy day dreaming about what humans would do if we lived without technology and money. What would happen if all the marketing and greed left our world? What would happen if we didn’t have a superior sense of self, and lived directly in sync with the earth, as animals do? I believe the human race has forgotten that they are animals. And, yes maybe we do have God-like powers and the ability to do great things which other animals cannot. But, the bottom line is nothing is greater than the energy that surrounds and lives within us - the energy most humans through the ages have ignored and disrespected in honor of expanding our society - which ultimately is the greatest destroyer.

What is next for us humans? Only time will tell, but I do know we all need to work together as a worldwide community with no separation. We must realize we are all exactly the same, no matter how different we may look or act. Bring peace to the people around you. Connect to nature. Consume less and do your best to bring our society back down to earth.

What if the assumption and information we are getting lately to "take MORE omega 3" is doing more harm than good?

What if we are looking at the omega fatty acid ratios in the wrong way?

What if we do NOT need MORE fat in our diets?

Below is a video I did about how to change our perspective about fats, how more is not always better, and how to make some sense of the fatty acid dilemma. Be safe and be gentle with yourself. Part 2 of the water fast video will be on our youtube channel at:
www.youtube.com/rawhealingpatch

This is part 4 of a series of interviews we did with Sam Spaiser of www.samsrawtruth.com. What intrigued me so much about Sam was his ability to be a low fat raw vegan (or in other terms, an 80-10-10er) at college, in Indiana nonetheless! What a great commitment this takes (never mind the fact that he is completely beyond the need for the typical beer and keg raging parties typical of campus life). For parts 1 through 3 of this interview, please visit our tv show at www.youtube.com/rawhealingpatch!

This interview with Sam allows us to being asking questions of ourselves such as:

What is the college experience?

What does a social life look like?

Is it necessary to conform to society's expectations of our diets in order to fit in?

How can we do a low fat raw vegan lifestyle amidst those who do not, or cannot even conceive of this?

Enjoy the interview.. and we wish you magical days!
julie and sarah
